The Subscribers areas of the SCI website includes a Closed Positions Report. It can be reached from the left navigation menu in the Subscribers section of the website.
The Closed Positions Report is periodically updated with details of the gains or losses generated when a stock is removed from coverage in the SmallCap Informer.
For purposes of tracking transactions, a purchase of an equal dollar amount of shares is recorded for every recommendation, including fractional shares up to six decimal places. The purchase price of every stock is determined by the closing price of that stock on the next trading day following the publication of the newsletter that contains the initial recommendation of that company. Likewise, the sell price used is the closing price on the next trading day following the publication of the issue or alert that contains the sell recommendation. Dividends are included in the return calculations, but are not reinvested.
Separate recommendations of the same company are noted by a number after the company name.
The report can be sorted by any column in order to show the biggest gainers or worst decliners
Note that the list is dominated by companies that have not lived up to expectations and that have been sold at a loss. Our practice is to let our winners ride, even during periods of market overvaluation, so our best performers remain covered in SCI and so are not reflected in this report. In addition, it is our expectation that 20% of all recommendations will underperform the market.
The Closed Positions Report can also be easily printed using the Print button on the page.
Contact the SCI team in the Discussion Forums if you have questions or suggestions for enhancements to the Closed Positions Report.
